Tobacco RDA IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Tobacco in San José: 24 units tested over 8 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Tobacco is allowed to say
We run tobacco the same way in San José: same RDA, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Tobacco in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the RDA you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco RDA really costs in San José
Tobacco in San José reaches the shelf in RDA formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested tobacco in a RDA
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a RDA that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
