Tobacco 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Tobacco in San José: 7 units tested over 2 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
We run tobacco the same way in San José: same 30 ml shortfill, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Tobacco in San José reaches the shelf in 30 ml shortfill formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the 30 ml shortfill you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested tobacco in a 30 ml shortfill
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long tobacco in San José survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a 30 ml shortfill and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | ₡60 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | ₡2.81 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How long does tobacco in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In San José we measured 2 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
