Sweet zero-nicotine bottle IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Sweet in San José: 17 units tested over 8 weeks, zero-nicotine bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Sweet prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.59 per 10 ml.
Sweet in a zero-nicotine bottle is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the zero-nicotine bottle you buy decides how long sweet tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested sweet in a zero-nicotine bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sweet bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a sweet bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where sweet goes wrong
- Mixing sweet with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a zero-nicotine bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for sweet in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should sweet start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a zero-nicotine bottle.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does sweet taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the zero-nicotine bottle units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the sweet blend itself harsh.
