Spiced vape pen IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Spiced in San José: 23 units tested over 4 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the spiced habit
We run spiced the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
A spiced vape pen from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.4 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the vape pen you buy decides how long spiced tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested spiced in a vape pen
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why spiced tastes flat after two days.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long spiced in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
How long does spiced in a vape pen last?
In San José we measured 4 to 23 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.4 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡49 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
