Spiced vape pen IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Spiced in San José: 18 units tested over 4 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the spiced habit
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
A spiced vape pen from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.75 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: spiced in San José works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a spiced vape pen really costs in San José
Spiced in San José reaches the shelf in vape pen formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested spiced in a vape pen
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every spiced bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a spiced bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long spiced in San José survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡1.75 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡52 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should spiced start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a vape pen.
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
