Spiced starter kit IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Spiced in San José: 9 units tested over 4 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with spiced in Costa Rica
Spiced starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 9 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Spiced in San José reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Below is the run we did for this search: 9 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a spiced starter kit really costs in San José
We run spiced the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested spiced in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why spiced tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How long does spiced in a starter kit last?
In San José we measured 4 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
