Spiced squonk mod IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Spiced in San José: 19 units tested over 4 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a squonk mod for spiced
Spiced squonk mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long spiced tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a spiced squonk mod really costs in San José
If you are looking at spiced in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested spiced in a squonk mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.65 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why spiced tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should spiced start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
