Spiced refill pack IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Spiced in San José: 13 units tested over 7 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What spiced costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Spiced prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.72 per 10 ml.
The short version: spiced in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a spiced refill pack really costs in San José
Spiced in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested spiced in a refill pack
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every spiced bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Mixing spiced with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
