Spiced pen device IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Spiced in San José: 12 units tested over 3 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Spiced pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long spiced tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a spiced pen device really costs in San José
Spiced prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.66 per 10 ml.
How we tested spiced in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every spiced bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a spiced bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised ₡39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.66 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
