Spiced mesh tank IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Spiced in San José: 8 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Spiced is allowed to say
Spiced in San José reaches the shelf in mesh tank formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The short version: spiced in San José works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a spiced mesh tank really costs in San José
If you are looking at spiced in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested spiced in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡63 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.88 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why spiced tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should spiced start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
How long does spiced in a mesh tank last?
In San José we measured 2 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
