Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

What a sourcherry refill pack really costs in San José
If you are looking at sourcherry in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested sourcherry in a refill pack
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a sourcherry bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where sourcherry goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing sourcherry with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Why does sourcherry taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the sourcherry blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On sourcherry the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.65 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should sourcherry start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
