Sourcherry cartomizer IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Sourcherry in San José: 12 units tested over 3 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with sourcherry in Costa Rica
The honest read on sourcherry: 12 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Sourcherry cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, cartomizer, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sourcherry cartomizer really costs in San José
Sourcherry in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested sourcherry in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for cartomizer in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sourcherry goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sourcherry tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡68 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.23 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.23 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡68 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does sourcherry taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the sourcherry blend itself harsh.
