Sour vape pen IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Sour in San José: 15 units tested over 3 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
A sour vape pen from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.94 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.94 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the vape pen you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour vape pen really costs in San José
Sour in a vape pen is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested sour in a vape pen
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for vape pen in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where sour goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest vape pen available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised ₡28 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.94 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
