Sour vape pen IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Sour in San José: 19 units tested over 4 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good vape pen from a repack
If you are looking at sour in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the vape pen you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a vape pen running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the vape pen you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour vape pen really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested sour in a vape pen
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where sour goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for sour in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.48 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡42 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a vape pen.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
