Sour pod kit IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Sour in San José: 12 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What sour costs in San José
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a pod kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Sour in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: sour in San José works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour pod kit really costs in San José
Sour in San José reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the flat-rate ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested sour in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where sour goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in San José survives.
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On sour the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.59 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
