Sour nicotine salt bottle IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist — Iqoscostarica
Sour in San José: 21 units tested over 5 weeks, nicotine salt bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
If you are looking at sour in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the nicotine salt bottle you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
A sour nicotine salt bottle from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.84 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: sour in San José works if the nicotine salt bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour nicotine salt bottle really costs in San José
If you are looking at sour in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the nicotine salt bottle you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested sour in a nicotine salt bottle
- Pick the nicotine salt bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for nicotine salt bottle in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sour goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡52 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.84 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a nicotine salt bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in San José survives.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the nicotine salt bottle units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
