Sour mesh tank IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Sour in San José: 20 units tested over 3 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
Sour in San José reaches the shelf in mesh tank formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a mesh tank running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour mesh tank really costs in San José
The honest read on sour: 20 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested sour in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where sour goes wrong
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
