Salted refill pack IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Salted in San José: 21 units tested over 2 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good refill pack from a repack
A salted refill pack from the pre-order options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.7 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Salted refill pack reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a salted refill pack really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested salted in a refill pack
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where salted goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised ₡56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.7 per 10 ml.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for salted in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On salted the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.7 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
How long does salted in a refill pack last?
In San José we measured 2 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
