Salted mesh tank IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Salted in San José: 21 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good mesh tank from a repack
Salted mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.24 per 10 ml.
The short version: salted in San José works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted mesh tank really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested salted in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where salted goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long salted in San José survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here

Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
