Salted 60 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Salted in San José: 22 units tested over 8 weeks, 60 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a 60 ml bottle for salted
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.62 per 10 ml.
We run salted the same way in San José: same 60 ml bottle, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the 60 ml bottle you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested salted in a 60 ml bottle
- Pick the 60 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 60 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where salted goes wrong
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest 60 ml bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Packaging for salted in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
