Salted 10 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Salted in San José: 11 units tested over 7 weeks, 10 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with salted in Costa Rica
Salted sounds like one product. It is not: a 10 ml bottle running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run salted the same way in San José: same 10 ml bottle, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: salted in San José works if the 10 ml bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted 10 ml bottle really costs in San José
The honest read on salted: 11 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested salted in a 10 ml bottle
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 10 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for 10 ml bottle in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the 10 ml bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where salted goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a 10 ml bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
