What a plum pen device really costs in San José
Plum in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested plum in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where plum goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plum the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.2 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
