Plum mesh tank IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Plum in San José: 17 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with plum in Costa Rica
Plum in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
A plum mesh tank from the best options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.42 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long plum tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested plum in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
Where plum goes wrong
- Mixing plum with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plum in San José survives.
- Chasing a discount on a mesh tank that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Is plum legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
