Plum box mod IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Plum in San José: 24 units tested over 8 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a box mod for plum
Plum box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The honest read on plum: 24 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long plum tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plum box mod really costs in San José
A plum box mod from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.12 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested plum in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where plum goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plum tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡43 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.12 per 10 ml.
