Plain mesh tank IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Plain in San José: 13 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What plain costs in San José
The honest read on plain: 13 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain mesh tank really costs in San José
Plain in San José reaches the shelf in mesh tank formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested plain in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where plain goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡46 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.56 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a mesh tank that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
How long does plain in a mesh tank last?
In San José we measured 4 to 13 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
