Plain 100 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Plain in San José: 15 units tested over 9 weeks, 100 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
We run plain the same way in San José: same 100 ml bottle, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the 100 ml bottle you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain 100 ml bottle really costs in San José
Plain 100 ml bottle reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 15 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested plain in a 100 ml bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 100 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the 100 ml bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a 100 ml bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest 100 ml bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a 100 ml bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.

Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does plain taste burnt?
