Pear zero-nicotine bottle IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Pear in San José: 17 units tested over 3 weeks, zero-nicotine bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
A pear zero-nicotine bottle from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.7 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
We run pear the same way in San José: same zero-nicotine bottle, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: pear in San José works if the zero-nicotine bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear zero-nicotine bottle really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested pear in a zero-nicotine bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the zero-nicotine bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Coil type inside the zero-nicotine bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every pear bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where pear goes wrong
- Mixing pear with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a zero-nicotine bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.

Frequently asked questions
Why does pear taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the zero-nicotine bottle units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the pear blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should pear start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a zero-nicotine bottle.
Is pear legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
