Pear prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Pear in San José: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good prefilled pod from a repack
A pear prefilled pod from the bulk options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.26 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
We run pear the same way in San José: same prefilled pod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long pear tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a pear prefilled pod really costs in San José
If you are looking at pear in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the prefilled pod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested pear in a prefilled pod
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every pear bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where pear goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised ₡30 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.26 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
Why does pear taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the pear blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should pear start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a prefilled pod.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
