Pear pen device IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Pear in San José: 19 units tested over 3 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the pear habit
We run pear the same way in San José: same pen device, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long pear tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a pear pen device really costs in San José
The honest read on pear: 19 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested pear in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where pear goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long pear in San José survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does pear taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the pear blend itself harsh.
How long does pear in a pen device last?
In San José we measured 3 to 19 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
