Pear box mod IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Pear in San José: 14 units tested over 7 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good box mod from a repack
Pear box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 14 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
A pear box mod from the compared options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.99 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: pear in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear box mod really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested pear in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where pear goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why pear tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
