Passionfruit mesh tank IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Passionfruit in San José: 15 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with passionfruit in Costa Rica
Passionfruit mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 15 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: passionfruit in San José works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a passionfruit mesh tank really costs in San José
We run passionfruit the same way in San José: same mesh tank, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested passionfruit in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every passionfruit bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where passionfruit goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡29 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.56 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Costa Rica |
| Coil life | ~6 days | The hidden monthly cost |

| Entry kit | ₡29 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | ₡3.56 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should passionfruit start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.56 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡29 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does passionfruit taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the passionfruit blend itself harsh.
