Passionfruit cartomizer IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Passionfruit in San José: 7 units tested over 9 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
If you are looking at passionfruit in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the cartomizer you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Passionfruit in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long passionfruit tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a passionfruit cartomizer really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested passionfruit in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where passionfruit goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a cartomizer that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why passionfruit tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How long does passionfruit in a cartomizer last?
In San José we measured 9 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does passionfruit taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the passionfruit blend itself harsh.
