Nutty starter kit IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Nutty in San José: 20 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Nutty is allowed to say
Nutty prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.61 per 10 ml.
A nutty starter kit from the value options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.61 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long nutty tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a nutty starter kit really costs in San José
The honest read on nutty: 20 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested nutty in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a nutty bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every nutty bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where nutty goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing nutty with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
