Nutty cartomizer IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Nutty in San José: 18 units tested over 4 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the nutty habit
Nutty cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 18 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Nutty prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.8 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long nutty tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a nutty cartomizer really costs in San José
We run nutty the same way in San José: same cartomizer, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested nutty in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for cartomizer in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 18 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where nutty goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡66 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.8 per 10 ml.
- Mixing nutty with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.

Frequently asked questions
Why does nutty taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the nutty blend itself harsh.
Is nutty legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
What nicotine strength should nutty start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a cartomizer.
