Mintice in San José: 11 units tested over 8 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The honest read on mintice: 11 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long mintice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a mintice prefilled pod really costs in San José
If you are looking at mintice in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the prefilled pod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested mintice in a prefilled pod
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where mintice goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long mintice in San José survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does mintice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the mintice blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On mintice the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.84 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
