Mintice pen device IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Mintice in San José: 20 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the mintice habit
Mintice sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long mintice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a mintice pen device really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested mintice in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a mintice bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where mintice goes wrong
- Mixing mintice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mintice tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.23 per 10 ml.
