Mint vape pen IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Mint in San José: 11 units tested over 2 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
A mint vape pen from the flat-rate options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.76 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Mint prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.76 per 10 ml.
The short version: mint in San José works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint vape pen really costs in San José
We run mint the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested mint in a vape pen
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for vape pen in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where mint goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long mint in San José survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest vape pen available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
