Mint starter kit IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Mint in San José: 18 units tested over 5 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the mint habit
We run mint the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The short version: mint in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint starter kit really costs in San José
We run mint the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested mint in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where mint goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long mint in San José survives.
- Treating the advertised ₡56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.12 per 10 ml.
