Mint pen device IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Mint in San José: 8 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a pen device for mint
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Mint pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 8 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: mint in San José works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint pen device really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested mint in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
Where mint goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mint tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
