Mint pen device IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Mint in San José: 7 units tested over 2 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What mint costs in San José
We run mint the same way in San José: same pen device, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you are looking at mint in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long mint tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a mint pen device really costs in San José
Mint in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested mint in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where mint goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mint tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
