Mint box mod IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Mint in San José: 18 units tested over 2 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Mint is allowed to say
Mint sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
A mint box mod from the pre-order options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.18 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: mint in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

How we tested mint in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 18 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where mint goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mint tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing mint with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
