Mint 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Mint in San José: 15 units tested over 6 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with mint in Costa Rica
The honest read on mint: 15 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Mint in a 30 ml shortfill is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the 30 ml shortfill you buy decides how long mint tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a mint 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested mint in a 30 ml shortfill
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where mint goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest 30 ml shortfill available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How much does a 30 ml shortfill cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡1.94 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡68 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does mint taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the mint blend itself harsh.
