Melon prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Melon in San José: 9 units tested over 2 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a prefilled pod for melon
We run melon the same way in San José: same prefilled pod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
A melon prefilled pod from the cheapest options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.35 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long melon tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a melon prefilled pod really costs in San José
Melon sounds like one product. It is not: a prefilled pod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested melon in a prefilled pod
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for prefilled pod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where melon goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡37 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.35 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Packaging for melon in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
