Melon pen device IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Melon in San José: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What melon costs in San José
Melon in San José reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Melon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.94 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a melon pen device really costs in San José
Melon in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested melon in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where melon goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
