Melon 60 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Melon in San José: 10 units tested over 2 weeks, 60 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Melon sounds like one product. It is not: a 60 ml bottle running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The honest read on melon: 10 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: melon in San José works if the 60 ml bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

How we tested melon in a 60 ml bottle
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 60 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for 60 ml bottle in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a melon bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where melon goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why melon tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡31 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.65 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
