Mango refill pack IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Mango in San José: 13 units tested over 7 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Mango refill pack here
Mango prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.73 per 10 ml.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: mango in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mango refill pack really costs in San José
We run mango the same way in San José: same refill pack, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested mango in a refill pack
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a mango bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where mango goes wrong
- Mixing mango with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should mango start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.73 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡58 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does mango in a refill pack last?
In San José we measured 7 to 13 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
