Licorice starter kit IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Licorice in San José: 17 units tested over 4 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
Licorice in San José reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the compared ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
The honest read on licorice: 17 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a licorice starter kit really costs in San José
Licorice sounds like one product. It is not: a starter kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested licorice in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every licorice bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long licorice in San José survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for licorice in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡1.93 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡61 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On licorice the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.93 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
