Licorice RDA IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Licorice in San José: 18 units tested over 7 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with licorice in Costa Rica
Licorice RDA reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 18 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the RDA you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a licorice RDA really costs in San José
A licorice RDA from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.26 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested licorice in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every licorice bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡41 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.26 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.

Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a RDA.
How much does a RDA cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.26 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡41 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
