If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

What a licorice box mod really costs in San José

If you are looking at licorice in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.

How we tested licorice in a box mod

1. Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
2. Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
3. Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.

• Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
• Spare parts availability for box mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
• The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
• Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.

Where licorice goes wrong

• Treating the advertised ₡60 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.85 per 10 ml.
• Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
• Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
