Choosing a 30 ml shortfill for licorice

Licorice in San José reaches the shelf in 30 ml shortfill formats, and the value ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.

Licorice in a 30 ml shortfill is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.

The short version: licorice in San José works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

What a licorice 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José

There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

How we tested licorice in a 30 ml shortfill

1. Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
2. Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
3. Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.

• Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every licorice bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
• Batch code and production date, so a licorice bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
• The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
• Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.

Where licorice goes wrong

• Ignoring the batch date on a 30 ml shortfill and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
• Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
• Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.

The rules that apply here

Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
